Who is Terry Peter??

Terry Peter was born in Keningau Sabah, on 26th January 1976, to Patricia Fong and Peter Lantai. He grew up in penampang as the youngest of seven siblings. Terry has been singing since the age of ten. He appeared in the local singing competitions twice at his early age and placed champion and runner up. Apparently, he was the youngest contestant in both competitions. At eighteen, he went to Selangor to further his study in Tourism Management at Stamford College, Kuala Lumpur. Although college life was hectic due tight study schedule, that did not however impede Terry from getting involved with music as he joined the youngest performing live band in Kuala Lumpur called ‘Crescendo’. The band performed in many well-known night clubs at that time such as Emporium and Roxy at the Renaissance Hotel. In addition, he also performed in various weddings, backing up famous Malaysian artists, live concert and jingles. In 2001, he went to Australia to further his study in Tourism Management at Central Queensland University. During his stay in Australia, he barely got himself involved in music as studying was more important for him. He however composed a number of songs just to get his mind out of the torturing theories from Uni. To date, he is residing in Norway and planning to come back to his homeland Sabah to present his ideas of music to the locals. Terry's first studio album features incredible songs written by an array of talented composers including himself. For this album, he collaborated with the best musicians including Douglas Henry, Melinda Angus and Durai Masuil. 'Melting POt' is recorded over seventeen months since october 2006 at Pusakag Studio in Penampang, Sabah. The album includes ten new songs and a bonus track of Terry's rendition of music for the song made popular by Durai Masuil called 'Sinduo'.Terry's musical palette in his debut solo album ‘Melting Pot’ has covered from POP to R&B bringing out material on modern and traditional music blended to fulfilled his passion of making fruitful music. The Album musical theme has been equally varied, featuring material on typical Pop/ R&B subjects like love, joy and happiness as well as complicated relationship. The album will be available in CD and cassette in May 2008.
