Fly from Kota Kinabalu to Makassar, Indonesia via Air Asia!

This morning when I was reading newspaper, I saw an advertisement from Air Asia about the new route from Kota Kinabalu to Makassar, Indonesia. It is a good news for those who like to travel because Air Asia always offer an attractive fare.

So far, there are two routes to Indonesia by Air Asia that is KK to Jakarta and KK to Makassar. I heard about the places of interest in Jakarta, Bandung and Bali but i don't have any idea about Makassar. Can somebody advise some places of interest in Makasar? I will try to search in some travel blog later as im planning to go there maybe somewhere in this year or early next year.

I found this advertisement advertised in local newspaper ( Utusan Borneo) so please get one! Here are the details of the flight:

Kota Kinabalu to Makassar by Air Asia as low as RM159.
Booking period: Now until 27th January 2013.
Flight schedule: 1 March 2013 to 9 February 2014!

BOOK NOW because the seats is VERY LIMITED! Please go to Air Asia (click here)  Website!

On the other topic, the route from Kota Kinabalu to Clark, Philippines  had been suspended effective on 1st February 2013! Even there are some other flights to Philippines such as Cebu Pacific, SEAir and Malaysia Airlines but I personally think the fare that offered by Air Asia is cheaper and I prefer Air Asia. I was made to understand that the flight was suspended because of some reason. The sound 'suspended' seems that they will they will continue the route at any time.......Hopefully!

I have been to The Philippines twice and I really agree  with their tourism tagline "It is More Fun In The Philippines!"

KK - Bangkok?, KK - Bali? , KK - Phuket? .......

Kate Middleton Baby Will Be Called “Princess” If Female

It's official. The Queen has decreed if William and Kate's baby is in fact a female, she will be called "Her Royal Highness" and "Princess."

The decision was made official on December 31, but Queen Elizabeth publicly announced it on Wednesday, Kate Middleton's 31st birthday. The exact language was published in the London Gazette:

"The Queen has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm dated 31 December 2012 to declare that all the children of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales should have and enjoy the style, title and attribute of royal highness with the titular dignity of Prince or Princess prefixed to their Christian names or with such other titles of honour."

Royal baby mania begins with questions on name, title, and succession

Without the new decree, a boy would have been called a Prince, but a girl would have been titled "Lady," as she would not have been first in line to succeed to the throne.
The Duchess of Cambridge with Her Majesty the Queen.

The Queen's formal declaration is in line with Parliament's plan to make an amendment that would allow for any royal baby, no matter its gender, to become the heir to the throne of England. In other words, the Queen's actions signal that she supports the idea that a female child born first would succeed to the throne.

"By issuing a formal decree to ensure the title of prince and princess to all the future children of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Queen showed her support for reforms to gender equality," Victoria Arbiter, ABC News Royal Contributor, told Yahoo! Shine. "She also managed to eliminate at least one excuse for any sibling rivalry."

The Queen, with younger sister Margaret, was known as Princess Elizabeth since her father had no male children …
This decision overturns a decree made by Queen Elizabeth's grandfather George V in 1917, which declared the eldest son of the Prince of Wales to be first in line of succession.

Though Parliament has not officially passed the amendment yet, it is largely supported by most of the government, the royal family, and the public.

"There's no question the royal family has needed to modernize in terms of gender equality, and history shows that women have done very well in the top job so these changes are somewhat overdue," says Arbiter. "There's certainly no one in the UK who could argue that this is not a very positive step forward."

Official titles are sometimes confusing to Americans, who thought Kate Middleton would receive the title of Princess when she married Prince William in 2011. Instead, the Queen opted to give them both new titles, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Kate Middleton celebrated her 31st birthday at home with Prince William on Wednesday. Pregnant with the couple's first child, she's still recovering from an ugly bout of extreme morning sickness that landed her in the hospital for several days in December.

The recent declaration has many wondering if perhaps the royal family is already aware that the baby on the way is in fact, a girl.

Sorry! No Free Flights from Air Asia..

I'm one of millions Malaysian who was happy with the 10,000 Free Seats from Air Asia! Sharp 12.01am last night, I opened the Air Asia website try to grab this golden opportunity. I actually wanted to book flights to Johor Bahru (From Kota Kinabalu) with my parents. Since my parents never had an experience in the plane, so in my opinion that this is the time for them.

While some people out there complaining that they can't enter the Air Asia website , surprisingly I can enter the website easily. So bad when I try to book the flight, there was no such FREE FLIGHTS by Air Asia.
Well, I didn't gave up. I keep on 'refresh' every 5 minutes until 3 o'clock in the morning and i didn't see any 'FREE FLIGHTS' sign.

May be this is not my luck or the advertisement was made to fool people for their own purpose!

More 'Monsters' hiding at Kota Kinabalu Drainage !

Photo Courtesy: Wildlife Department of Sabah

Few days ago, I have posted about the 2 meters crocodile found at Kepayan Ridge area. This morning, I saw a statement from Datuk Dr Laurentius Ambu, Director of Wildlife Department of Sabah (from Daily Express) about the crocodile that caught at Kepayan Ridge appeared to be smaller than the one spotted in the monsoon drain near the hospital last August!

The Wildlife officers measuring the crocodile.

Even the ditch in Kepayan Ridge area was connected to the monsoon drain near the hospital, he believe that there might be more crocodile hiding somewhere in the drainage.

The drainage in Kota Kinabalu is connected to one another and I believe that there might be more crocodile living peacefully at the drainage and some of 'them' maybe in the drainage near your housing area. The one caught in Kepayan Ridge Area is smaller but it is dangerous enough for an adult like me haha.

This is an advice to the public out there, if you see something at the drainage, please report to Wildlife Department of Sabah, Fire & Rescue Department for an immediate action!

An advice to the public out there who like to fishing in the drainage area or to the aluminium can collector , please be extra careful. Camping is totally prohibited near the drainage!

81 inch Crocodile found at Kepayan Ridge!

Last night, I went out for a dinner at Golden Valley Restaurant at Kepayan Ridge area . While waiting for my food, i heard the people who is sitting next to my table talking about crocodile somewhere not far from  the restaurant. Well, I actually don't believe such things because i know that there are lots of lizards living at the drainage at Kepayan Ridge. It must be a lizard or BUAYA DARAT..

Just now, I saw few picture at Facebook and yes, it was really really 81 inch crocodile! Congratulation to Wild Life Department of Sabah, Fire & Rescue Department and to the public for the information. I think the respective department will release the crocodile to its natural habitat. Hopefully!

Cerita Lucu: 2 Ekor Hantu

Tersebutlah kisah dua orang hantu. Mereka ni baru bertemu lalu mereka pun berborakla untuk mengisi masa lapang kehidupan mereka sebagai hantu. Sepanjang perbualan mereka, Hantu B ni tak habis- habis menggigil. Lalu, Hantu A yang kehairanan ni pun bertanya,

"Apsal kau ni asyik menggigil je?"

"Oh..cara aku mati dulu teruk..aku mati dalam peti ais... sejuk!!" Jawab Hantu B sambil menggigil lagi.

"Ooo..kesian... aku dulu mati sebab heart attack." Kata Hantu A ramah.

"Kau memang sakit jantung kronik ye? Apsal ko tak gi buat operation? Kalau tak, sure kau tengah lepak-lepak ngan family kau sekarang." Balas Hantu B.

"Dah,aku dah buat dah !In fact mase aku mati tu, aku in recovery. Panjang ceritanya... " jawab Hantu A sayu.

"Ceritala sikit..Sambil-sambil lepak nih.."

"Camni..Aku syak isteri aku main kayu tiga ngan aku. So this one day, aku ingat nak perangkap la isteri aku..Aku pura-pura gi keje tapi actually aku park keta aku kat simpang hujung umah aku je. Seperti yang aku syak, masuk sebuah keta kat carpark umah aku. Aku rilex dulu sebab nak carik mase sesuai tangkap diorang."

"So, ko dapatla tangkap diorang?" tanya Hantu B penuh minat.

"Tak. Aku cume jumpe isteri aku je kat dalam bilik. Yang aku heran, mase aku masuk umah tu, aku nampak ade kasut laki kat pintu umah aku. Aku tanye isteri aku tapi die takmo jawab. So aku pun lari-lari sekeliling umah aku nak carik jantan tuh. Abis sume bilik aku carik tapi takde pun.. Last-last, sebab aku penat sangat berlari carik jantan tuh, aku pun jatuh pengsan sebab heart attack. And aku tak sangka aku mati lak... " kata Hantu A mengakhiri ceritanya dengan kesedihan.

Hantu B terdiam mendengarkan cerita Hantu A. Selepas beberapa ketika, Hantu B berkata,

"Kenapa kau tak check kat dalam peti sejuk? Kalau kau check kat situ, sure kita berdua still hidup lagi

Before 2012 ended, Mengomot!

We have different way to end year 2012. This year, my new year is very meaningful because all of my siblings were at home celebrating Christmas and New Year together. Thanks God for this beautiful reunion. In the deep of my heart, actually i too sad because one of my sister didn't with us. She is in KL and this year is the 9th year she not with us. I hope that one day, she can celebrate together in one big family.

To cut it short, 'Mengomot' or harvesting paddy is our yearly routine every year and the best thing was when the season falls during Christmas and New Year!

Please find videos and few pictures below for my Year End 2012 moment:

I try to show how to harvest paddy in a traditional way. We call it ' Mengorontob'

This video is about how to split the paddy from its stem.

For those who want to order 'Parai Wagu' , kindly contact me :) Cheers!
